Happy Fall! Only 13 more weekends until Christmas!
That might seem like a lot to you, but as a portrait photographer I need to get a move on! Weekends are such high priority for holiday portraits that they fill up fast! I already have first weekend of November booked, and the mornings of the second weekend booked. Fortunately November has 5 full weekends, but that does not mean you should wait to book your session. One of those weekends is right after Thanksgiving.
If I were you, I’d book my Holiday session in October. Stop shaking your head, or laughing at the idea of checking off something on your Holiday to-do list before kids come to your door to trick-or-treat.
Hear me out.
First of all, sessions need to booked in advanced. Try to book at least 2 weeks in advance. Once the precious portraits of your tiny dressed up as a sweet petite santa are taken, then it takes another week before you get to see your final, edited images. Let’s say you are super deceive, know the exact layout and picture you’d like on your cards. It will still take another week before they are in your hands. Now it’s two weeks after your took your portraits. You still need to bake cookies, buy the new it toy for your niece, and there are still those cards! It’ll take some time to address each envelope, forget writing a personalized message on each one, and if you are anything like me, they might even sit there for another week before they finally reach the post office.
Even if you are super efficient and not a holiday procrastinator, more likely than not, your cards will go out 3 weeks after your portrait session, if not a little later.
Remember how I suggested to take your Holiday portraits in October? Doesn’t seem so crazy now.
Just think about your friend who will get your card in the first week of December. She’ll think, “Wow, Jane already has her Holiday cards out! And she has a new baby!? She is really on top of things!”
I’ll even sweeten the deal for you. Book your Holiday session to take place in October and you’ll receive $25 in print credit that can be used on prints, holiday cards, albums, and wall portraits.
You know what to do! Fill out the form below, and we can start planning your Holiday portraits today!
You’ll be glad you did.
